The Woman At The Well

She stands with a jar on her head held high

Who is this woman who comes at noon to the well?

He sees right through her and says with a sigh

“I know who you are.”

I’ve come from afar.

More than simple water I bring.

Mine quenches the thirst hidden deep within.

What I have to give will make your heart sing.

“I know who you are.”

Living water will fill more than your jar.

Bubbling up, the tears stand in her eyes

As she runs to the village to tell the Good News

“The Messiah, he knew me, he knew me.” she cries.

“I know who you are.”

You know who I am.

And you are mine.
